A. Website terms

1. Use of the website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not misuse the site (including attempting to damage, disrupt, scrape, or misuse forms or content), or use it in breach of applicable law.

2. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, iTech Repairs and/or its licensors own the intellectual property in the website content (text, logos, photos, layout). You may view and print content for personal use only. You may not copy, sell, or republish site material without our written permission.

Apple, Samsung, Huawei and other brand names are trademarks of their respective owners. iTech Repairs is not affiliated with or endorsed by those brand owners unless expressly stated.

3. Website content and pricing

We try to keep information accurate, but content, pricing, stock, and service descriptions may change without notice. We may correct errors. Website content does not replace quotes or agreements made in-store for a specific job.

4. Online forms and enquiries

Information you submit via Contact, Device evaluation, or other forms is handled under our Privacy Policy. Submitting a form is not a confirmed booking or sale until we accept it and (where applicable) you pay any required deposit.

5. Limitation of liability (website)

To the maximum extent permitted by law, iTech Repairs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) this website. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under South African law (including the Consumer Protection Act, where applicable).

6. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the website or our services after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

B. Repair terms and conditions

These repair terms apply when you book in a device for diagnosis, quote, repair, service/cleaning, insurance assessment, or related work.

1. Risk, data and backups

Devices are booked in at the client’s risk. iTech Repairs is not liable for any data loss or damage sustained during hardware or software repairs. Your device may need to be restored or formatted to complete a repair. Please back up your data beforehand, as lost data cannot be recovered. We may offer a backup service at an additional cost where feasible; backups are not always possible on faulty devices.

2. Parts and workmanship warranty

Warranty periods are as follows (from the date of repair). Keep your job card / proof of repair.

  • Apple original parts carry a 1-year warranty.
  • All other model repair parts carry a 90-day standard workmanship warranty.
  • All batteries carry a 6-month warranty.

This warranty excludes any physical or liquid damage, and repairs or work done by third parties after our repair.

3. Warranty not transferable

The repair warranty is not transferable to new owners.

4. Quote validity

Quotes are valid for 7 days unless we state otherwise in writing.

5. Stock on order (device not left in store)

Stock ordered for devices that are not booked in and left at the store is subject to a non-refundable 50% deposit.

6. Deposits before ordering parts

All Samsung and Huawei devices — and not limited to these brands only — require a 50% deposit paid on the repair quotation before parts will be ordered and the repair completed. Certain repairs on all brands may also require a deposit at the store’s discretion.

7. Communications

You will receive communication from iTech Repairs and iTech Repairs’ official partners in the form of quotes, invoices, notifications, newsletters, and SMSs regarding exclusive offers, specials, products, and services. Marketing messages are also described in our Privacy Policy; you may opt out of marketing as set out there (service/transactional messages about your repair may still be sent).

8. Manufacturer warranty

If iTech Repairs opens your device for brands for which we are not authorised for warranty repairs, you will lose the remainder of your manufacturer’s warranty. You will, however, receive the relevant iTech Repairs parts warranty as detailed in clause 2 above in its place.

9. Bent back covers and related damage

Devices booked in that have bent back covers could indicate damage beyond the initial repair request. Internal damage may or may not be repairable. If detected, the customer will be held liable for costs related to those parts and/or repairs (we will communicate before proceeding where reasonably possible).

10. Latent damage from impact

Physical impact can cause component failure on your device and main board, which may only become apparent after the device is opened or the screen and battery are removed. Component damage may render your device unusable. iTech Repairs is not responsible for latent component damage caused by impact.

11. Uncollected devices

Devices not collected within 90 days of notification will be sold or recycled. This includes any device that has a deposit paid upfront for the repair but has not been collected within the 90-day period. You will not be entitled to a refund of a deposit paid on a repossessed repaired device.

12. Collection and identification

Devices will only be returned to owners on presentation of a valid iTech Repairs job card and a South African Identity Document or any other legal form of identification.

13. Payment before release

Repaired or assessed devices will only be released once payment due for that job (including agreed deposits, parts, and labour) has been received, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

14. Liquid damage and high-level board work

Where a repair involves liquid damage remediation or high-level mainboard work, a shorter warranty period may apply (for example 30 days). We will confirm the applicable warranty when quoting where this differs from clause 2.

15. What repair warranty typically does not cover

Unless required otherwise by law, repair/parts warranty does not cover (among other things): further physical or liquid damage after repair; misuse; unauthorised third-party repairs; software issues unrelated to the repaired part; normal wear and tear; or damage from power surges, water, fire, or events beyond our reasonable control.

C. Pre-owned devices, trade-ins and PayFlex

1. Pre-owned sales

We buy and sell pre-owned Apple and Samsung devices (and other devices as offered). Stock is checked before sale and sold with warranty as stated at the point of sale / on the invoice. Cosmetic condition may include fair wear; performance and warranty scope are as described when you buy.

2. Pre-owned warranty exclusions (typical)

Unless stated otherwise in writing at sale, warranty on pre-owned devices does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, misuse, unauthorised repairs, normal wear and tear, data loss, forgotten security codes, blacklisting, or IMEI/serial alteration. Full exclusions will appear on your invoice or sale paperwork where applicable.

3. Trade-ins

Trade-in values are subject to inspection of the device (condition, functionality, account locks, and market factors). A quoted trade-in may change if the device differs from what was described.

4. PayFlex

Where PayFlex is offered, payment plans, approval, and fees are subject to PayFlex’s own terms and eligibility checks. iTech Repairs is paid according to the PayFlex merchant arrangement; your instalment obligations are with PayFlex. See our PayFlex page and payflex.co.za for customer plan details. Not all payment options may be available for every purchase.

5. Returns

Returns or exchanges on pre-owned devices, if any, are as stated at the point of sale and subject to South African consumer law where it applies. Please contact us promptly with your proof of purchase if there is a fault or the device is not as described.

D. Insurance assessments and other services

Insurance assessments, device service/cleaning, supply of new PCs, and custom builds are provided as quoted. Assessment reports reflect our professional findings at the time of inspection. Final insurer decisions remain with the insurer.
